Dr. John Benefiel is the founding Chairman of the Oklahoma Apostolic Prayer Network, (OAPN), formerly the Oklahoma Concert of Prayer, (OCOP) , an interdenominational organization comprised of over 700 Christian churches and ministries and 4,000 intercessors based in Oklahoma, with members throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. OAPN is a statewide movement started in 1995 that God is using to bring unity to the Body of Christ with the goal of seeing the entire State of Oklahoma, and the Home of the Red Man, saved, transformed, and reformed.

In 2006, Dr. Benefiel became the Founding Apostle of the Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network. Through HAPN, God is joining the hearts of kingdom-minded leaders and believers to work together to change America and the nations, and to see awakening, transformation, and reformation. As prophesied by Chuck Pierce, the mission statement for HAPN is “Changing the Heart of the Nations“.  The success of this mission was best stated by C. Peter Wagner, “the results from Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network are the most tangible, measurable results of high level prayer and spiritual warfare that I have heard yet in my life“. Currently HAPN includes leaders and networks in all 50 states in the US, over 40 nations such as Australia, Benin, Blackfeet Nation, Burundi, Cherokee Nation, Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes, Comanche Nation, Costa Rica, Cree Nation, Denmark, El Salvador, England, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Kurdistan, Lebanon, Liberia, Malaysia, Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Navajo Nation, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Norway, Ojibwe Nation, Pakistan, Peru, Puerto Rico, Rwanda, Sudan, Sweden, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Virgin Islands.
